An entire landscape can change with the slightest movement of the sun. Such was the case this evening here in southern Wyoming during that interesting moment between afternoon and evening. It seemed every time I blinked, the gradient of colors between the grasses and the sky would shift. And indeed, no evening is ever the same.
A champagne dusk settles over the Broomfield, CO Flatirons after sunset. Broomfield is a really great place to live if you ever have the chance. I miss always having a knock-out view of the Flatirons from everywhere (even the local Wal-Mart parking lot had stellar views).
This tiny Dark-eyed Junco was doing all it could to only keep one miniature foot in the snow at a time in a 2014 snow in Virginia. It was only after watching carefully for several moments from 25 ft away that I noticed it changing feet every few moments. Not to worry though, just out of camera range were 4 feeders I kept filled in the back yard it had a feast at.
